I don't have any specific travel sites, but always got the best deal by booking directly with the hotel. Hotels pay 15-20% comission to booking websites and are usually eager to give you a discount for booking directly with them.

Really? I haven't booked accommodations directly in ages. For hotels I usually use Booking.com. I will check out prices directly on hotel websites the next time I need to so I can see the difference myself. Worth a shot!
Thanks for the info!

Welcome buddy. It usually works for smaller places, as chain hotels sometimes got weird policies in place. If you don't mind calling the hotel, try that too, they may be willing to knock a few extra pennies off. Booking.com charges hotels minimum 15% commission, which means there's a lot of room for discounts.

Didn't know what their take was. I do like how Booking.com will have daily deals that are much cheaper than normal rates and the reviews from past guests are priceless for me, especially when I am searching for wifi (inside the room). I've been burned before bringing laptops to do work, only to find that I can't even connect online in the room that I got.
