Although I'm not big into the rave scene, I do enjoy good trance/tecnho music and enjoy going out to clubs. A friend of mine advised checking out Ministry of Sound on my next trip to London. Has anyone gone? Is it overpriced? How's the crowd and is there anywhere better/cheaper to check out while in London? Would love some feedback.

Yeah its worth checking out. I think it was about 15 pounds to get in when I went last year. Its not what it used to be apparently, there are bigger and better trance clubs like Fabric and Turnmills, but I had a good time. Its like a London institution, so thats one of its main selling points.

MoS has many "theme" nights so make sure the night you are going on is actually a trance night same as fabric etc...if your planning on travelling around as part of the clubbing scene you may want to check out "god's kitchen" in sheffield....a good website to check out is dontstayin.com sorry couldnt be arsed to do the link

You can get on the guest list free for some nights at MoS via ViewLondon - just look for the guest list links.
Personally, I think it's worthwhile to hit it up if it's free/discounted, simply because it's MoS, but I'd MUCH rather go to Turnmills or The Cross for that sort of scene. Cargo over in Shoreditch is much more my style, but my favorite club nights in London have probably been the more intimate, specialty nights at places like Notting Hill Arts Club and Neighbourhood.

Fabric isnt a trance club, its practically everything else apart from (breakbeat, techno, D&B etc)
But still VERY worth going to.. its my fave club!
Check out the "Fabric Live" nights these are the best!
If you want trance Turnmills on a Friday is your best bet
OR Godskitchen on a Satrurday in Birmingham
http://www.ents24.com/ has all the listings you need for every venue night by night

Not readin' anything of the above. Listen even the worse place is worth going if the event is good, it's all about who is spinnin' and what the crowd is gonna be like, sometimes clubs that are too well-known become a pain in the arse for the lines/bouncers/lame VIP/ bad mainstream crowd/ within other crap.
So when going to a place like this be smart check out who is spinning and what the theme is.
