Mexico trip
Hi Guys
So I picked up a cheap ticket to Mcallen Texas From Edmonton, Canada. So I'm hoping to somehow cross the border there then wander in Mexico for two weeks. So Any advise on the best way to do that... Crossing the border... Transportation on the other side (Reynosa). Only requirement to this trip is that I visit some folks in Mexico city for a few days Otherwise it's up to me. I'm Not huge on the party deal. I'm Finding it all intimidating now So any advise or suggestions would be hugely appreciated.
Haha I hope I gave everybody enough info and thanks in advance..
Jen

hello! I'm sure crossing the border won't pose any real issues.
I've only been to Cancun and Chichen-Itza in Mexico but if you can get down to Chichen-Itza, it's totally worth it. The Mayan ruins there are amazing. There are a lot of other similar sights to see in Mexico (all very inexpensive), it just depends on what it is you wanna do.

The bus system in Mexico is pretty good. Since you're heading to Mexico City, you shouldn't have a problem finding a bus or other transportation there. There are some amazing sites in & around Mexico City - if you're intoarchaeological sites.

on my way home this spring valley transit had a regular shuttle from the reynosa bus station to the mcallen airport every half hour or so...well, it dropped me off about a block from the airport (I had two offers of rides in that one block...including one from a cute girl in a huge pickup truck). land in mcallen, jump the shuttle across the border, walk into the bus station and point at a destination you've never heard of and voila, let the adventure begin!
