I'm 99% sure I'm going to do a semester abroad in Prague next year (when I'm a sophomore), but I have a couple of questions. Weather and climate wise, would it be better to go there in the fall or spring? How expensive/cheap is the city, how much could I get by on for a week living fairly comfortably?
Also, for anyone who has studied abroad and have done a homestay with a family. How was that experience? Was there anything awkard about it?
thanks,
Kurt

I imagine Fall and Spring are fairly similar climate wise. It does get pretty cold in the late Fall in that part of Europe, I hear. I know Poland was cold in the Fall, but then again, it's a tad further north.
Prague's a great city, and I know a few folks have posted in the Country Forums and the Eastern Europe section about prices and such. Not sure if I know anyone who's done a home stay...
Good luck! And I say sieze the opportunity. Nothing beats living in a country as the best way to see it...

Hey Smit,
Are you going to be a Sophmore in high school or sophmore in college during your study abroad year? We have a junior in HS here doing this year abroad in the Netherlands so hopefully he can provide some insight on staying with a family for you.
