The festival season begins in a few days in Montreal. Throughout the summer, we have plenty to keep us busy downtown. Non-stop festivals, mostly outdoors activities, from late June till September. Music from the world, comedy (both in french and english), theater, movies. When one ends, another one starts. The streets are then crowded. Most of the shows are free (except Just For Laugh) ! Famous groups/comedians, happy crowd, laid-back ambiance !
Here are a few links :
Montreal Jazz Festival
Just For Laugh Festival
Les Francofolies
This one is in Quebec City (where I'll be moving next week for a few years - PM me if you're coming to visit)

Hey Atchoum,
I lived in Montreal until 5 years ago. Which part of town are you from. I lived in lower Westmount. So you can start with the rich english pig attack now lol!
But I do agree with your plug and think that Montreal has the best Party/nightscene athmosphere in Canada.

I've been living in Montréal for over 15 years now, and have tries many areas of the city, from Côte-des-Neiges to Hochelaga-Maisonneuve. Lower Westmount... hmmm... rich english p** you said ? Nah... You went to McGill ? I had settled for Rosemont close to the Plateau but hop! moving back to my hometown Québec !
Have you had a poutine lately ?

LOL, I did go to Dorion (just off the West Island) last weekend and had a good Poutine at 'La Belle Province'. Best Poutine around...
I'm actually living in Eastern Ontario. I have the french flag up because I hold dual citizenship and I've traveled there many times.
I'm only 18, I just had my last day of high school yesterday. This week I write 3 exams and then it's over. I'm taking the next year off to travel/work in Europe...
Montreal Rocks! Can't wait for my next trip to Crescent...
