I want to put a few packages of my smoked salmon in my back when in go to europe later this month. I smoke the fish for a living and want to share my delicious work with people I meet in my travels.
Will customs have an problem with this?
Our products are all labled and cleared for retail sales if that means anything
Thanks!

Generally, any meat or vegetable products are a no-no. You can doublecheck with the particular country, but by and large, it wouldn't be allowed, if I'm reading it right...

I was going to bring some Maple Syrup to Oz with me as gifts,. Then I was told that The Aussies are very strict on what you could bring in. So I ended up not bringing any, when I got there I found out I could have. I was pissed. So get the info from the embassy before.you go. I think If it packaged you should be ok,...But I am a little slow sometimes, so get the info from the peeps who know :-)

When I went to amsterdam I took some meat in my backpack, but not the carryon. And there was no problem.
