Depends on what you think a tram is! For me, a trolley bus is a regular bus that runs on electric (usually) wires in the air. A tram is more like a train car that runs along tracks in the road. Where are you going to be travelling, specifically? Probably someone here can tell you exactly the kind of transport to expect. (Please note, I'm Canadian. As my English dad, American husband and I are constantly discovering, the fact that we call the language we share "English" by no means guarantees that the words we use share the same meaning.)

Oh, lucky you. Just spent two years there. It's wonderful.
A lot of places there do have the trolleybuses, as I described, connected to the wires above the roadway, though some also do have the trams. They're generally exactly the same as regular buses although at some intersections when you're turning you get kind of a jerky ride as the connecting rods transfer to new wires. Also, sometimes a rod will come off the wire altogether and the bus grinds to a halt, but usually the drivers have a special pole to realign things, and the delay is generally only minutes.
Best advice is to know whether you're going to take a trolley or regular bus to a particular destination, because they don't always stop at the same places. Usually on the transit maps they are colour coded, so once you know the code, you're set.
