Great, urOZm8!
Penance is where I started my hiking, heading clockwise up along the same route you're going. It is awesome...and day hikes is the way to go. Did I give you my tip already on how to do that?
Plot out a midpoint of two days hiking from where you are. Take a bus there and check in for two nights. On the first day, bus to one end of the two days' worth of hiking, and day hike back to your hostel. On the next day, bus to the opposite end, and hike back to your hostel. So, one day you're going clockwise, the next counter, and both days you end up in your "midpoint" town. Leave the big pack and take just your day pack (and raingear!).
I look forward to hearing about it...

All I am actually from Birmingham and when you live here it doesnt seem that good. But I suppose we have a lot in this city. I live bout 30 min drive outta the city in a nieghbouring city called Wolverhampton and there are even more other ethnic minorites there, if you wanna know anything about birmingham let me know as I know quite a bit about it.
Yes I do have Dudley accent not a Brummie one. (Dudley been where Leney Henry is from, aslo Ozzy Osboure, UB40, Duran Duran, and the TV show the grimleys was set here). Dudley accent is not as upper class as the Brummie one its harder to understand.
The midlands is the friendlist place to be

hey wwm. yeah thats what ive done pretty much, caught a bus away from the hostel and walked back. but its a bit off season so things are isolated. sometimes ive walked first and caught a bus back which has meant ive had to watch the time.
lands end - real tourist trap, you go half a mile each side and get spectacular coast where no one is.
i loved sennen cove, porthcurno beach around lands end. but more liked coast around lizard - kynance cove soooo beaut

Ahh...those names bring back memories. Porthcurno (= port of cornwall)...isn't that the one with the Greek theater on the hill above the coast? Sennen Cove...yeah, I remember them. Each day, by the end of the hike, I'm thinking, "My feet are too sore, I'm going to have to take a day off tomorrow. Each evening, the beer or cider would begin to revive me. The next morning, I was fine, and was stepping out to the sound of seabirds, the rush of the waves on rocky shores, and the gorgeous expanse of blue sea and green coastline.
Thanks, urOzm8, for bringing back the memories...!
