Hello "the tourist" Ireland for New Years sounds a freakin blast. What a great group of people to have pints with and celebrate. Filling in the gaps on the rest of the trip is the best part. Any advice you need can easily be found on this site. I was also in Paris and other areas last month and can give suggestions if you need them. Have fun and keep posting.

Wow man, what a trip, 2 of my clients just got back from Sweden, Denmark, Estonia, and Russia on Sunday. They loved it. Unfortunately they were on a cruise to these destinations. I'm not a big fan of cruises. I personally feel you have to be somewhere for 3-5 days to really get a feel for it. Porting for 5-8 hours just doesn't do it. Hope you have a freakin blast and good luck with the job hunt at the end!!!!!!!!!!!

Are you relocating internationally after quiting your job? If so, good luck! We are doing the same thing, but are a few years away. Your trip plans sound sweet. We will be in the Greek Isles for 2 weeks in June, can't wait!!!!

Starting in August of '07... Setting up a home base in Ireland and then an undetermined number of months wandering aimlessly around western and eastern Europe and maybe the middle east, and northern Africa... With trips back to Ireland every few months to work and renew my cash flow... I figure this will continue until I get bored or for two years until my holiday maker visa expires. :D

I am not relocating internationally, I just have one of those lovely corporate jobs that only give a few weeks a year in vacation and doesn't let me take it all at once. So my boyfriend and I are saving up as much money as humanly possible and then quitting our jobs and heading to Europe. We will just get new jobs (well, I am trying to go to grad school) when we get back. Yes!
Where are you relocating in a few years?

So I'm sure lots of people will have an opinion on this, but my wife and I will be heading to Holland in Spring 09. We are both massage therapists/yoga instructors/personal trainers and are planning on opening our own studio somewhere in the burbs of Amsterdam. The process of getting a business lic. is sooooo much easier than getting a temp. res. permit, so we shouldn't have to hard a time. Of course the main reason for Holland is the liberal policies there. Yes we are stoners and getting weed in the states is easy, but the mentality of the people there and the fact you don't have to live in a little fear over some freakin weed is the real pull. So between now and then, we are starting all our trips there and doing all the research on locations etc... We have already connected with relocation specialists there and it should be smooth. We have 3 more trips planned through there between now and then, next is A-Dam and off to the Greek Isles for 2 weeks. June, 8 more months

That sounds kind of what I would like to do after Sweden. Are you from the States? What exactly is a holiday Visa? And what do you plan to do while there. I was thinking of just seeing if I could work in a pub or a hostel.
