I just watched an episode of the Osbournes where they go to Medieval Times for Jack's brithday and now I really wanna go. So freaking cheesy, I know. Who's been to one?

When I lived in Chicago, I used to drive past the one in Schaumberg all the time and never knew what it was. There's one in Myrtle Beach. Toronto. Few other places.

I went to one in Toronto. So much fun. The food was a bit sketchy. You ate with your hands, and even though it was a year ago, I swear there's still grease clogged somewhere in my arteries.

Another good movie scene involving Medieval Times is in "Cable Guy" when Jim Carrey takes Matthew Broderick there.

I have been twice to the one in Myrtle Beach. First we went for my mom's bday then I went for my 16th birthday and they "knighted" me.

There was one in Boston called Medieval Manor. I would be surprised if there wasn't one in C-bus. I will have to check as I am curious.

I've been to the Chicago one. It was pretty neat. They tried to keep it as "period" as possible. It was rather enjoyable. And the food was good too.

I've been to the one in Schaumburg several times. Once was even to perform. Not as a knight, but as part of my high school's Madrigal Singers (choir who performs traditional choral works). I can't really remember if I've been to any other locations, but if I had, it would have been NJ, FL, or ON.

I also went to another dinner show called Arabian Nights in 2006 in Orlando, due to the fact thatmy hostel mates and I met some of the performers at the pub down the street from the hostel and they invited us to the show the next night nearly for free (including all you could drink cheap wine & beer! woo!).

okay well I am going to chicago over easter so I might drag the family to the schaumberg one but I think they would hate me LOL... so maybe I will get a group together from work and we'll drive the the myrtle beach one... it's only like a 2 hour drive.

it better not be lame if I drive to this. it looked like one of those really cheesy things that if you went with the right people and drank enough beer it would be a kick ass time.

There's one here in Dallas, I went once when I was a kid. I remember it being awesome at the time, maybe not so much now...

Women can be knighted, however their title escapes me. However I do believe Dame is the equivalent of Sir, although I could be wrong.

yeah, women can get 'damed' (I'm sure that's not the official term but it's the equivalent of knighted) but americans can't :P I think there's a few americans with honorary knighthoods but you have to be a part of the Commonwealth to actually be knighted properly. But I'm sure at Medieval Times, anyone can be knighted! you could be Dame Nicole or Lady Nicole (I think Ladies are somehow related to Dukes)

Yeah, "Dame" is the female equivalent of "Sir" - the few that spring to mind are all the famous British actresses - Dames Judi Dench, Helen Mirren, Julie Andrews, and Elizabeth Taylor.

Nicole...Dame Grand Cross is not an honor bestowed very often. If you want to be a little less conspicuos ;) then add your name to the list of Dame Commanders (DBE) which is the title Judi Dench holds.
