I just started a new job at a bar in Sosua and am looking for some new drink inspirations from Tpunks.

What are some of your favourite drinks? And how do you make them? :comando: :wine:

omisan 05-15-2006 04:16 PM

Hrmm.. I could've sworn we had a thread on this - of drinks we'd invented (or were just plain new/different for everyone) but I can't seem to find it!

benna2 05-15-2006 04:20 PM

I thought there was a thread about it as well....couldn't find it.

It's under General Discussion - page 2 - your own bartender!

Personally, I usually stick with the usual vodka-cran, or jack and coke, but I do love the fruity, girly, drinks! Especially Miami Vice - half pina colada, half strawberry daquari.

The most amazing drink(s) I had was at a bar a few weeks ago. The bartender apparently made it up, and I was apparently hammered, but apparently the "Rob Special" as he called it had banana liquer, malibu rum, crushed ice, grenadine, and well, like I said I was not all there, so I can't remember quantities or other ingredients! But it was good!!

tequila sunrise(tequila, oj, grenadine) is my favorite mixed drink but i generally just drink beer

I was watching Pantera's Behind the music on VH1 over the weekend and they had a pretty kickass sounding drink called teh Blacktooth Grin. It was Whisky, Coke, and something else

omisan 05-15-2006 10:57 PM

It's a double Crown Royal with a splash of coke.

d_fresh 05-16-2006 07:28 AM

mine are simple:

jack & ginger ale w/lemon
whiskey sour (jack, sour, marachino cherry)

i always like the "malibu bay breeze" it's a total girl drink, but very tropical - so quite appropriate. malibu rum, pineapple juice - and a splash of cranberry... you could even get fancy and put a little slice of orange on the rim for effect.

for the record though, i'm all about beer now... i'm even getting a beer belly! it's kind of cool! like the rest of me stayed the same size but i've got this little bump! i love it.

I don't drink alcohol any more, but I used to be quite partial to a Blue Lagoon back in the day. Vodka, lemonade and blue curacao.

I remember (just) being on holiday in Tenerife with my family and a friend when I was 16, and getting so drunk on these. The measures were so ridiculously huge, I'm surprised I wasn't sick.

JeanB 05-18-2006 11:33 PM

Hot toddy all the way!!!!

1 ounces Whiskey
1 ounce Honey
ounce Lemon Juice
3 ounces Water (Hot)

and that beer belly sounds really fruity to me ;)

When I was a bartender my roommates/coworkers used to make "14-year old girls"... Its a shot (or two) of vodka in a tallish glass with ice. then fill it less than half with sprite, and the other almost half is oj. Then very carefully add a bit of grenadine, to make it pretty. They're really good, they go down so easy, then all of a sudden you're wasted....

hehe joan that reminds me of the french gf of the boxer who killed the guy in Pulp Fiction. What was her name? anyway.. "I want a pot. I think its sexy.." hehehe.

dont dont dont mix the drink. it settles that way on purpose. the order of ingredients is important.

Simple: The Redheaded Slut

1.5 oz Jagermeister
1.5 oz Peach schnapps
fill with Cranberry juice

Down it in a shot glass. It's got a good kick to it, but it's good for people who hate Jager to still get the infamous Jager effect with barely any of the licorice taste. There is no drunk like a Jager drunk.

Complex: The 1-900-FUK-ME-UP.

1/2 oz Absolut Kurant (blackcurrant)
1/4 oz Grand Marnier
1/4 oz Chambord raspberry
1/4 oz Midori melon
1/4 oz Malibu rum
1/4 oz Amaretto
1/2 oz Cranberry Juice
1/4 oz Pineapple Juice.

Shake in a mixing tin with ice cubes and strain in a rocks glass. Then proceed to agree with the name of the drink.

Use these with caution. ;)

Hmmm.. last redheaded slut I had didn't require the Peach Schnapps.. Just a few shots of Jaeger..

Brookers13 05-19-2006 12:00 PM

yuck i dont like red headed sluts...ewwww

Somnambulation 05-19-2006 09:48 PM

The more complex the drink, the more it costs. Beer or whisky/vodka and coke for me.

Or Scotch with ice.

So funny! I was at a bar last weekend watching a bartender make about 10 of these for a table of women in their 40's (all had blonde hair except for one brunette - not important, but a strange observation on our part). I was going to ask her what the name of the drink was, but forgot. It was quite an entertaining event watching her make all these complicated drinks.

As for my favs - always a good beer, a dirty Tangueray martini, and my new fav summer drink - a coconut mojito! Yum!!!

Echeverry 06-16-2006 11:54 AM

Green Antichrist is the best drink ever! to bad you can legally make it in the states. Dude I hate the Wormwood haters. They should make that crap legal just like the coke tea!
